hey tuffnuts have you seen north star play this year? how do you know jake fleegle is slow? he seems too be getting by his defender and getting to the basket. Also strasiser is a good athlete, but for his size he could dominate more with the height this year since a lot of teams are lacking that. he hustles and plays hard but thats how he scores. thats not a bad thing at all but if he would learn good post moves who knows what he could do. but he is young and a great athlete and we hope he gets back to healthy status soon

if i had to pick a top five in the westpac it would be in no paticular order:
Guant
Pruss
Fleegle
Smith
Gibbons
The only reason i picked 5 is because it seems as these guys are the only ones who do it consistantly every game. Guant, Fleegle, Smith and Gibbons average 20 plus and work hard to make the team better with their basketball skills. Pruss may not average that many pionts but he is the key to Conemaugh Valley's offense and makes great passes while averaging a good amount

bball22, if you were to not give each team a representative who would be your top 15?

I think the top eleven players in the westpac north and south in no particular order are:

Portage - Maul
Ferndale - Gaunt
CV - Pruess, Lupek, J. Uncapher
NS - Fleegle, Strasiser, Walker
Shade - Gibbons, Smith
Berlin - Will

I think these guys would do very well against anyone in AA and potentially some AAA teams across the state.
If you made me pick a top 10 I would drop Gaunt due to being guard heavy.

I’ve seen a lot of high school basketball games in Somerset County this year and Smith and Gibbons are by far head and shoulders above everyone else. Fleegle and Pruss are not far behind and will join them on my 1st team along with Lupek. These kids are all having fantastic years.

1a) Smith
1b) Gibbions
2. Fleegle
3. Pruss
4. Lupek

2nd Team
1. Guant
2. Strassier
3. Uncapher
4.Walker
5. Will

You could make a case for Maul and someothers in the Top 10. As far as listing 15 the players really start to drop off so I won't bother.

I don't really know how AJ Maul is so high up on everybody's list. Granted, the kid is a baller but anybody who has seen him play knows that he isn't the most consistent PG. I think that Portage's most consistent player is Cronauer.
