Outlook after the First Scrimmages

Post by SFB14 »

I know this board has been heavy in to the football playoffs latelly and rightfully so with four local team still alive in the state tournament, but with basketball season right around the corner I was curious if anyone got to take in the first set of scrimmages and had any early impressions on the teams and scrimmages you may have observed?

Portage is supposed to be @ FH today at 3, but don't know if the weather will change this.

I thought both PA and FH looked pretty rough around the edges. Still have some "football rust" to knock off. They'll both get better, just need more time on the practice court. Good hustle on both teams parts, a good 1st scrimmage.

Central was scheduled to scrimmage BG last Saturday but was canceled. Dragons will split scrimmage Penn Cambria and Ferndale this Saturday.

Doesn't central have a game scheduled with BG?

Should be a good game. I expect central and BG being among the top of the district

CT-TM-FH 3-team scrimmage at CT today. TM looked like the best of the 3 teams. Their big guy, #31, is really a good all-around player, O and D ends of court. CT looked decent overall. FH looked better than 1st scrimmage. FH suffered a blow. Donoughe's shoulder popped out as he attempted a steal (same one that he dislocated in football). CT trainer couldn't get it in. Off to the hospital.

Wow. That's too bad. I anticipated maybe 2 more wins with him in the lineup this season- now they will be lucky to equal last year, IMO.
