Hey Sunshine,

I gotta agree with you as far as present and future are concerned. The johnstown lady hoopsters have disbanded and blue thunder is a complete joke. When they played down a couple age groups a couple years ago in the Deep South Classic and the got their Tribune reporter to do a big story on it when they won, it turned alot of people off to them. But the Hoopsters are no more so that's all girls have and that's sad.

As far as the past is concerned, I don't think alot of people realize the level the Hoopster teams played at or the fact that around 30 girls who played for the Lady Hoopster programs went on to play in college - many at D1 and D2 levels. And this happened over maybe 7 years. Besides the girls Crimson Crazy mentioned there are numerous others including Katie Lintner who was All WVIAC several years and a star at Seton Hill. Katlin Urban got a full ride to Bloomsburg and then played at UPJ as did Krista Britcher who had D-1 potential but had knee problems. Ali Buchan got a full D-1 ride to Lehigh. Katie Oblinger and Amanda ottaway got full D-1 rides to William and Mary and Davidson respectively. Amber Anderson played at D-1 Quinnipiac under full scholarship. The Lady Hoopster list goes on and on with other girls who went on to d-1, d-2 and d-3.

Here's something to think about. None of the D-1 girls mentioned above ever made an all state team while, over the last couple years several area girls made the all state team who will never step on a basketball floor again. Just food for thought......
