the private schools are basically quad A schools as far as "enrollment area" is concerned, however they have no balls and play lower classifications since they only had that many people attending the school.

A good case in point is sewickly acadamy in Class A boys. When was the last time you saw a boys PUBLIC class A school have starters listed at 6'2", 6'3", 6'5", 6'5", and 6'7"? They also had some height sitting on the bench.

Tussey mountain had 1 kid at 6'5".

Go Catholic Schools!!!!

A Girls in at least getting one BG or Vincentian.
AAA Girls is getting one Arbishop Wood or Villa Maria Academy
AA Boys maybe 1 Mercyhurst Prep. Imhotep Charter is welll a charter school with public aid. So I dont know what to calll them cause these schools actually recruit as opposed to the catholic school myths you make up.

AAAA Boys all Public. You guys can have a celebration.

No Crimsoncrazy, in AAAA a public school can get their "trophy".

I think it would be a good idea to have a private league with charter schools included.... we can call it the "competitive" league. Then have all the whining, piss ant, outcome based, play for fun public schools in their own league which we can call "ntramurals". They can have their own charade of a playoff where every public school can get a "trophy" so they don't feel bad about themselves. Then the top 4 intramural teams can enter the "competitive" league playoffs (but few would because they cannot compete outside of their pitifully uncompetitive outcome based little worlds) to see who are the best teams in the state. And we could have it so that public "intramural" teams could get a trophy if they enter the "competitive" playoffs even if they lose (so as not to feel bad about themselves).

The real answer is CONSOLIDATION. As a JHS grad, I cannot believe how small some of the publics have become and how high property taxes are in some of these small districts. Don't cry about being unable to compete, when your school should not exist and you graduate 50 kids. Don't try to drag others down to your uncompetitive level. Consolidate, get some numbers and go compete.

Oh no psycho not more of your rantings about outcome based this and that. Its a legit point that the privates win most of the titles in A and AA.I would expect crimson to root for the private recruiters though as he is a part of that system.Surely a public school grad realizes there has to be classifications.I know, I know psycho I guess the only true state title is at the quad AAAA level! Just keep telling yourself that!

Crimson - Come on, you cannot be so dog gone clueless. It is a fact regardless if you are for it or not. I get more tired of listening to you whine about it not happening than the ones who whine that it is happening.

Let's make this simple, we go blackberry picking and I can only pick Blackberries in the Conemaugh Valley School District and you can pick blackberries all over the county and even in contiguous counties. Who is going to have a better opportunity to get the nicer berries??

I said it before about Bob Gongloff and Tim Koshute. Both successful at private schools and unsuccessful at the public schools. If Pat Hollern goes to Richland, and I know he will not, he will not dominate the LHAC. If he took the Windber job that he applied for earlier he again he would struggle.

Coach K would struggle at Richland and Windber too.

Get better... Great comment.

Let's look at colleges and compare something that is only slightly similar, but is a way of helping to understand the situation.

Shippensburg basketball, how big do you think their recruiting grounds really are?

Kentucky/Duke/Syracuse basketball, they have the entire nation (and actually global) reaches.

Who would win in a game? Ship or Kentucky? In this scenario both can recruit...it is just something to at least compare in some way.

I think it is awful. Look at the last 5 years and post what you see in terms of state finalists and champions. It has gotten even worse since the charter schools got in. Oh yeah...speaking of which, Strawberry Mansion plays tonight. One of there key players transferred there from the school they play tonight. Their situation is just crazy in lots of ways and I will share part of it just for anyone that actually read this far.

There head coach is the coach just in name. He isn't the acting head coach. They had this volunteer coach (also a pastor) who filled the game coaching responsibilities of head coach. In late Feb, the principal fires this guy because he wasn't appreciative enough of the shirts she purchased for the team. The team wanted to quit and forfeit the rest of the year, but he convinced them they should stick it out. Being a pastor, the fired coach wrote a note to the principal that said he still loved her as a person and forgave her for what she did to him. They are now in the eastern final tonight.

One school also (I believe) has a starter who has been in varsity for 5 years. I have no clue how based on the eligibility clock...but I heard that info today as well.
