AAAAA is a sub-region with Obama Academy and Carrick from District 8, Central Mountain, Bellefonte, and Hollidaysburg from District 6, and DuBois from District 9.

They are avoiding AA which features Bellwood-Antis, West Shamokin, Blairsville, BG, and McCort.

Over the course of the past 5 years, Bellwood, McCort, BG, and Blairsville are likely better than any of the schools mentioned in 5A.

Well and that's what my thought was, but in state playoffs you're still going to run into a powerhouse team like Archbishop Wood. Pick your poison I guess.

Yep, makes a district title more manageable, but yeah state playoffs would be much more difficult.

This does will have some effect on the D6/D5 A-AA playoffs with a win vs Portage in the regular season worth more point correct?

Would love to hear Portages coach explain the the move to 5A. I'm sure it differs from Crimsons logic. Haha! He's exactly right though, eluding D6 AA powerhouses. Run away!!

I don't see anything wrong with it. They still have to go out and earn anything they get in 5A.

Much easier road to the district title at 5A. Let's be honest, when schools do this sort of thing, they are usually not choosing the harder path. I wish my school could move down to 5A! Lol

If it was just to avoid AA then go to 3A or 4A. Going to 5A means they have a specific reason
