Altoona Mirror’s fab five rankings were released today and an article explaining some of the logic that goes into them.  I agree with most of it however I would have BC first and JV second in 1A.   Either way it doesn’t matter those two are headed for a showdown in the D6 finals.

I agree that Bellwood is first in 2A because they have the kind of player that doesn’t come along that often.

In 3A I would differ a good bit.   Juniata would not be in my top five, probably not even in my top eight.   They play in a bad conference that always has them towards the top of the pack when the seeds are released.  Juniata beat Bellefonte by one and PO by three.  Both of those teams have been handled easily by the top teams in the Mountain League.   I think there are 8 teams in 3A that can win the D6 championship.  The LHAC is very, very strong.   Westmont, Central Cambria and Penn Cambria are all capable of beating anyone in that classification.   If forced to rank five I would have Penns Valley first because of their wins over JV and Central even though they just lost a couple games including an OT loss at Tyrone.   Speaking of Tyrone they are playing as well as anyone right now in 3A.   I would have West Shamokin second because of the returning core they have back from last year.  Central, Tyrone, Central Cambria, Westmont, Everett and Penn Cambria are all capable of beating anyone.   Put them all in a hat and draw one which makes home court important those first couple rounds.  Cambria Heights could jump up and shock someone also.

4A is Forest Hills but don't look past an improved Huntingdon and Bedford.
