District 6 Boys 1A

Has anyone looked at what a joke this tournament is going to be come playoffs?  Bishop Carroll and Juniata Valley seem to be to top 2 seeds but where is the rest of the competition?  It used to be such a hard road to play for a District 6 A Boys title, but without schools like BG, Homer Center, Portage, Conemaugh Valley this title is about as difficult as getting a participation trophy.  The reclassification really ruined 1A.  I know teams go in cycles of success, but very average teams are going to get to play for championships where in past years wouldnt get out of the first or second round.  Take us at JV this year we have a good team currently 14-5 and have one the best guards in Cameron Collins around according to everyone you run into down here.  He shoots 3s like Tra Young from Oklahoma, but anyway as good as we are, of the 14 wins only Bellwood I wound consider another good team.  The ICC North has fallen apart to what it was a few years ago.  It's really bad basketball even last nights big win for us aganist a 7-10 Williamsburg team yes beating a 7-10 team is apparently a big win these days had the worst defense I've ever seen in a high school game.  It is a rivarly game so that makes me feel better I think? Our league tho overall wins to this point...Glendale 1 win, Mo Valley 2 wins, Claysburg 3 wins, etc....JV should end up 14-0 in Icc North play and 17-5 regular season record and normally I would be excited to take on strong 1A schools for a district 6 title but with the exception of Carroll the tournament is going to be a joke.

I wouldn't count out St. Joe's, they went into BC and played them very tough and only lost by a couple.  They might be better than Juniata Valley.

Looking at current standings they would meet in semis. I wouldn’t overlook blacklick Valley or st joes vs Juniata think BC May be top and then everyone else

Does 6 1A really matter? Kennedy is leagues above everyone in that class. Until they move to 6a next year no reason to even watch that class.

I think every school in the area still values a district title.  So that trophy matters to a lot of people involved with those programs.
