I'm not going to pretend to be an expert on seedings but something really jumps out at me.

How is Tyrone the #2 seed and get a home game against Johnstown #3 seed?

They both have similar records. Johnstown is 17-4. Tyrone 17-5. However,  Tyrone's best win is who? Central?

Johnstown has wins over #5 AAA state ranked Richland. #5 A state ranked Shade. 18-4 Indiana. 6A Altoona.  Not to mention Johnstown won the head to head vs. Tyrone by 17 pts!

I'm not saying Johnstown goes and beats Tyrone. I just don't get that seeding at all.

Someone please enlighten me!

It’s done with a points system, so Tyrone has a few more points apparently.  Johnstown would probably be the one seed if a human selection committee did the brackets.

Johnstown handled Tyrone earlier in the year.  If Johnstown plays a solid game, they should win again.

Yes points awarded based on the size of the school you beat not the record of the school you beat which has zero bearing.

1A win = 5 points
2A = 6
3A = 7
4A = 8
5A = 9
6A = 10
You play to win the game!!!

1. Huntingdon  142÷21=6.905
2. Tyrone.           131÷22=5.955
3. Johnstown.     123÷21=5.857

Thanks for the info guys. I figured it was obviously some sort of point system but had no idea of the particulars. Seems silly to me that you could get 5 points for beating a 20 win A team and 6 points for beating a 0 win AA team.

Whatever, the rules are the rules. Again, thanks for the education guys!

And I think most will agree if each team brings their A game Johnstown is the team to beat.

It is odd they do a power point system for opponents wins/SOS for football but not basketball

1 game a week, everyone playing Friday or Saturday, no makeups, no playoff deadline to worry about. Just lot less confusing with football.

I think it was too hard to do in basketball with so many games, along with out of state games. Football is only one game per week, and less schools competing, so I’d think it would be easier. My opinion anyway
