LHAC conference championship

Post by theprophet »

LHAC announced the championship format.  Higher seeds will host semifinals.
1 vs 4
2 vs 3
If the season ended today we would get Richland at Johnstown , BC at BG.  Home court is going to be huge in getting to the finals.

Not a fan. They already upped conference games to 18. Do we really need to see another in conference game?

Just like PIAA playoff- half the field is privates. The problem with this new championship is the same teams are usually involved in state playoffs, and re-scheduling the dates becomes a necessity, esp. with weather concerns around the Laurel Highlands.
It ain't over until it's over.

So are these 2 extra games and the teams now play 24 games to win the conference?

It would be 20, not 24.

Teams can play up to 22 and have them count towards playoffs. I wondered how LHAC championship works.  Is the semifinal their 23 game and the finals their 24?  Or does the teams only schedule 20?  If so, what do they do if they don’t make the championship game?  Just be short games?

Ask the Heritage this is their format. I would imagine these games are considered playoff games not regular season.

They are playing 22 regular season games...as always.  And there will be a conference championship game...as always.

The only difference is the semifinal game being thrown in there, but not much has changed overall.  The two teams that have made the LHAC title before have always entered the postseason with a 23rd game.
