Reliable word is that both Coaches Doug West and Miriam College resigned from their positions at Altoona Area High School today. It'll be fascinating to see where they go for replacements for these jobs. Former AAHS star Kristi (Little) Kaack is the Head Coach right across town at BG. This would seem to be a logical place to start (although there are coaches on the AAHS staff who might have interest in the job). As for the boys job, could they possibly lure Drenning away from BG to take arguably the premiere job in Blair County? It's going to be a fascinating couple weeks until these positions are filled.

Altoona Boys Basketball is the premier job in Blair County? Yikes. 

Based on the size of the school, the history of the program, and the number of former players this program has put in to major college/NBA, I don't think it's much of an argument that Altoona is the premier program in Blair County. While that might not be much to brag about in the current era of high school basketball, I don't think it can be debated.

I'd agree it is historically a great program. I don't know if it's a great job anymore. A good one? Sure, but there's a lot working against it IMO.
