These are the male and female players from the Class of 2006 making basketball news across the East. Scroll down to find names from Pennsylvania, Maryland, District of Columbia, Delaware, Virginia, New York, Florida and New Jersey. The players who have been added to this list will receive an invitation to the next "Talent Evaluation" Shootout at Alvernia College in Reading, PA. Blairsville-Adam Highberger, a 6'1" point guard is averaging 25 points a game to lead the Bobcats, the highest scoring team in the state of Pennsylvania to a 17-0 start.

Bristol-Breeah Hatch, a junior Lady Warriors, averaged 17.6 PPG and 12. Rebounds Per Game this season. Her career points stand at 870. Breeah's career rebounds stand at 792. She scored a career high 35 points against New Hope Solebury February 10,2005

Cardinal O'Hara-Heather Scanlon, a key member of the this years team
Cardinal O'Hara- finished 26-2 and finished # 18 in the country. They won the Orange Bowl Christmas Tournament in Miami. Their only defeats were to Christ The King #1 in the country (their gym) and Ursuline Academy (double overtime) who finished #1 in Delaware and 16th in the country. Kim Benton (class of '06) is one of only three point guards to play as freshman at Cardinal O'Hara, Clement (Tenn.), and Claxton (St John's) were the other two.

Blake Rubenstein came up big for Hatboro-Horsham, scoring 13 of his team-high 16 points after halftime, including a 3-pointer that put his team ahead for good at 60-59 with 27.7 seconds left in the game.

Mike Pasco from Our Lady of Lourdes in Coal Township, PA. scored 28 then 27 points in two games in one week with four three pointers in each game.

Pequea Valley’s fast-rising star, Devon Mowday scored 47 points combined in league wins over Lampeter-Strasburg and Donegal. Those performances made him the New Era Player of the Week.

Red Lion-Meggan Quinn clipsed the 1000 point barrier earlier this season. Has a high game of 35 points earlier this season. Meggan recently made verbal commitment to play for Coach Rene Portland at Penn State.
Rochester-Kaitlyn March averaged 17 and was named all WPIAL

Riverview: Dan Charette started for the 22-6 playoff team
Salem Christian- Erik Eshelman averaged 17 per game
St. Basil, Christine McCollum, a junior, helped them control the boards with 13 rebounds
Schenley-Junior Kenny Johnson came off the bench to score 15 points .
Schuylkill Haven-6'5" Marty Foss had 10 rebounds and 6'1 Jon Miller had 7 rebounds
Scranton Prep: Kristin Folk, 6'4" (maybe close to 6'5")averaged 10.6 ppg on team that advanced to elite 8 in Class AAA-Several Division 1 schools have shown interest in Kristin already-She is a top notch student with IVY league potential.
Scranton: Ellen Fallon scored a game high 15

Serra Catholic-Laura Grimm averaged 19 and was named all WPIAL
Serra Catholic-Brittany Matta averaged 15.8 and was named all WPIAL

Shenango: Steve McNees one of the leading scorers in the WPIAL had 41 points in an 87-68 victory against Summit Academy and had 45 points in a 63-62 loss to Farrell.
Shikellamy: Junior guard Natalie Monroig led the Braves with 18 points and seven steals
Spring-Ford-Junior center Dena Santoro with 11 points, seven rebounds, two blocked shots and a steal.
Seton-LaSalle the other returning starter is 5-11 junior center Emily Pacconi. They stand at 12-5.
Shady Side Academy, Junior Matt Diehl starts in the frontcourt with junior Justin Young at point guard

Steel Valley (Pittsburgh area) Robert Todd led the team in scoring, steal, assists, and rebounds. He also gets to the basket very well.

Titusville- Stef Lorey led the Lady Rockets with 24 against the North East Lady Grapepickers.
Thomas Jefferson is led by 5-foot-5 junior point guard Nikki Presto, a three-year starter who averages 12 points per game and 5-5 junior guard Erica Nath.
Trinity, 6'5" Brian Morris had 26 in overtime win over Susquehanna Twp.

Upper St Clair -Katie Wood, 5'11" is averaging 13.5 pts per game, 10 rebounds, and 5 assists

Vincentian, Dave Theis, a 6-foot-7, 210-pound forward-center scored 49 points in an 81-75 overtime victory Jan. 26 against Riverview
Vincentian-Casey Melvin, she was named Class A Section 4 2005 All-WPIAL
Vincentian Academy Junior point guard Jason Duty has scored 15.6 points per game and junior guards Zach MaKray and P.J. Pry have played much larger roles than expected.
Villa Joseph Marie, (20-5) watch: VJM will need junior center Stephanie Wisniewski to play well to win this one and secure a berth in the state tournament.
