hockey is canceled because it is among the most boring sports that there r including :auto racing, golf, tennis, and soccer. the only reason a normal person would turn on hockey is 2 c a fight unless ur a fan and i doubt that there r gonna b 2 many left after this. just like what happened 2 baseball when they went on strike the fan base left and needed 2 cheaters in sosa and mcgwire 2 get them back in2 good graces with the sport, nhl will not likely recover from this and i could care less the sport is played by dumb people with no teeth and can't usually speak english so i hope they cancel it 4ever

I'm sorry but anyone who thinks that hockey, especially ice hockey is boring has never A) Seen the game actually played because it's not as televised as football, baseball,basketball,etc.., or B) just doesn't understand the rules and how the game is played. Because if you've ever tried ice skating then you know how difficult it is and these guys can hit harder than football players on skates. And the whole thing about all the players not being able to speak English....well I'm sorry that everyone in the world doesn't speak so that you can understand, but I don't see you trying to learn their language. Hockey is one of the most widely played sports in the world and to me is arguably the toughest sport to play!

The Flyers are just like the Titanic. They both look good until they hit the ice

once again an ignorant American opens his mouth and closes his ears...i would say next to soccer, hockey is one of the more popular sports in the world...i don't see why America doesn't see it! i love watching hockey, they hits, the moves, and yes the fights. i am very disappointed that there isn't going to be a season this year...this might force lemuix, messier and other older superstars into retirement. sad to see them go.

I'd rather watch hockey then rugby. Hockey is great. I venture either to Johnstown or to Cumberland to watch hockey. It's an exciting game. I don't know how someone can't enjoy a hockey game. If anyone wants to go to one, Frostburg State plays in Cumberland Friday and Saturday I believe. I'll be going to the Friday game.

Men forget everything; women remember everything. That's why men need instant replays in sports. They've already forgotten what happened.

first off i hate nascar...i just can't sit there and watch cars go around in circles. i have all my teeth, and i'm smart so i don't know where all that came from. Lemuix is to hockey like favre, emmitt smith, or jerry rice is to football...he's a legend, and if this arguement comes out with a salary cap...maybe the penguins can become a better team, right now they don't have the money to keep all the great players that they build up.

I definitely agree with you Count. Nascar is hard to like. Personally I like a little more athleticism. Or maybe I just like contact sports. But either way, 3 hours of watching the leader is pretty boring.
I also have to agree with you on saying that Lemieux is one of the sports' better players.

If Lemieux, in your opinion, is such a horrible player. Then who do you think is one of the sports' greatest?? I mean other than Gretzky...

he's the only active player to be in the hall of fame...yes he retired and came back...but still, i don't see anyone else accomplishing that feat!
