Future of College wrestling
The man that opened the purse strings in Happy Valley to bring Coach Sanderson to State College could probably turn the Pirates into the Yankees....well, he's starting to look like it anyway. Lets look at just the developements over the last 3 weeks. Keeping in mind that PSU already is gonna be at the top of recruiting with Sanderson at the helm, the Nittant Lion wrestling club brings in Jake Varner, Fanthorpe, and 3 other national Freestyle team members to stay and train in State College.....can you say even more leverage with potential recruits, not to mention the nations' best in our room at every practice for the Nits. Then, like another great lightning strike.. Okla. , OSU, head to the PAC 10( try to sell that conference to recruits) and ISU is left without a conference for now. The big 10 with the addition of Nebraska and the demise of the Big 12, will undoubtably get at least one more qualifier per weight class for the NCAA tournament.....In less than a year Sanderson has created the makings of a monopoly on college wrestling.... Boy I'm glad I got my season tickets last year. That will be the ticket to have over the next 20 years.

I guess I was a bit premature with the pac-10 part. but the big 12 has taken a hit reguardless, losing 2 teams and Big 10 folks are still in a better place right now.

Re: Future of College wrestling
Im going to predict that in 2 years psu will be national champs, think about all of their recruits will be in the lineup, both altons, wright, taylor, cowburn, even martelloti. Speaking of martelloti i heard he hammers petaky, its kind of crazy to think that a true freshman is dominating a 6th year senior.

in addition, Cael has gotten two of the top 6 recruits in the nation this year...Nico Megaludis (125) and Morgan McIntosh (184-97) will be instant impact wrestlers next year...the 2011-12 lineup will be blue chip from bottom to top
