LHAC Tournament cancelled

Breaking now- Bedford has cancelled all remaining wrestling events on their schedule and will CO-OP with Hope for Hyndman. I hear it is because CR dropped HFH from their schedule so Bedford won't have to face CR anymore.

LHAC/D6- This was totally ridiculous! Calling it off less then 48 hours before tourney was to start. How much money do you think Bedford's boosters already had tied up in hosting this event? food, awards, etc. I heard a rumor that Westmont may have been refusing to come?

Westmont did not have the event listed on 2 of their schedules that I looked at, while the other Cambria County schools did list the event.

Westmont DID have it on the schedule. Westmont was planning on attending. End of story.

Just what I had heard regarding Westmont. Thier HC (won't attempt to spell it.) did not want to attend the event.

Heard wrong. It was scheduled, bus was ordered. All LHAC teams were required to attend.

So do you know what actually happened and why it was cancelled?

While the LHAC event may have been on Westmont's internal schedule, it is not/was not on the schedule at the D6 website hosted by Rich Vetock. This while the other D6 AA LHAC members had the meet included on their schedules, so there was some miscommunication regarding Westmont & D6.

I have heard that Bedford was very angry. Obviously at this point lots of planning went into the tourney.

So let me ask. If this is true, which Odoyle always seems to be spot on -

Why was it canceled? Westy have pull with D-6 or LHAC? I doubt D-6 or LHAC just up and cancel this if no one was complaining and trying to get it cancelled.

Please dont try to pin this on Westmont. If I had that much power, Id let you know. Why it wasnt on Vetocks schedule is a question you have to ask him. Its been on our schedule since the beginning. Im not sure what you mean by "internal" schedule. The LHAC uses Schedulestar to schedule all games. You can call McIllwains in the morning and ask for Conrad. Ask him if a bus WAS scheduled for Westmont to attend, but canceled only today. Get back to me with your findings. As to why it was canceled, I only know as much as the other schools know.
