Heres my final thoughs about the weekend:

1. d-5 i think did a very good job this weekend considering how small we actually are.

2. Big congrats to Easter, amazing accomplishment being a finalist has the potential to be a 4xstate place winner.

3. Awesome for Dibert to finally get that state medal and well deserved.

4. Buttry will be a FORCE at Hwt next year.

5. Hall should be proud with his performance. Tussey gets its first medalist in forever.

6. Nickelson could have very easily thrown in the towel at districts but shows some heart fighting back and medaling

7. Congrats to Lazor on winning Coach of the Year. Well deserved in my opinion.

8. Refereeing overall was good but not great. I saw too many matches where the ref tried to decide the match by calling stalls too quickly and stalls that award a point to put the match into overtime. If its not an obvious stall id rather the wrestlers decide the outcome.

Does anyone have any idea why Benton's coach Hughes was not around on Friday and Saturday? I only saw him Thursday then not again through the rest of the tourney.

Agreed- 5 state placewinners for D-5 is pretty good. I still think we missed out on a few though that were def. good enough to get a state medal.

Easter- CONGRATS. Great weekend for him. He wrestled his butt off through his first 3 matches. Hopefully he is able to take that one final step next year.

CR-Finished off a great season Buttry and Dibert both wrestled great also. Lazor getting COY is also nice for the program. CR really has it going and is going to be tough for anyone in D-5 to unseat over the next few years.

Hall- Glad he got a medal, will miss watching his old man go at it while Mitchell is wrestling.

Nickelson- Agree with Captain. Nickelson def. wasn't healthy in the post season but battled to get his medal.

Refs- agree. my issues. I saw guys working hard for about 5:30 minutes getting a lead and working hard to hold it and then start protecting the lead to finish off the match and get nailed for stalling, when the other guys hadn't worked for points at all until it was already to late. I think if your going to hit the guy that was the aggressor the entire match at the end. The ref should hit the other guy early in the match too.
Also alot of inconsistency on what was being called on the edge of the mats. Both with fleeing and where refs would blow it dead or let them wrestle. Easter's match with Vath, ref whistled them out of bounds when Ryan was in good position for a takedown and his entire body was still in bounds.

Not being smart, but I don't think the younger Hall will be able to match his brother's or father's accomplishments.
