Grapple, i really dont see your point about HWT being weak state wide? There are 2 state champs at HWT and multiple state place winners and qualifiers. Normally for HWT that doesnt happen. HWT is a senior driven weight class just like 106 is a freshman driven weight class. Of the top 8 ranked HWT's which of them have lost to wrestlers at a lower weight class?

very valid point but Beattie also has beaten a lot of good wrestlers as well. Buttry x2, Gill, Smith, Ringer all state ranked.BleacherBump wrote:i agree with you, captain america, about hwt being tough, but beattie did get whooped by robb from kittaning, a 195 lber

Wow ... that tells me that Robb and 195# is very, very tough! He's won 4 matches at 220# ... but all his losses have been at 195# ... interesting ...BleacherBump wrote:i agree with you, captain america, about hwt being tough, but beattie did get whooped by robb from kittaning, a 195 lber

145 is the toughest by far. If anyone disagrees you are clearly on crack.

I'm not sure it is the toughest by far. I might be on crack I guess. But how many wrestlers have state medals outside of Nolf in this weight??
113 Has 3 wrestlers in it with State medals. Plus Howard and Gabriel. I think the 5 are all ranked in the top 7 in the state. That's a pretty good weight.

red_alert , I totally disagree with you . How many state place winners will come from 145 ? Not near as 113 from our region in the sw .

I don't believe anyone mentioned 220 is only weight to contain #1&2 in state rankings... Not real deep but can't get better than 1 vs 2

145 maybe the most competitive but not the toughest. 113 would get my vote....i guess im on crack as well.

Going by the latest rankings, hwt at SwAA has 7 of top 12 ranked kids... 2 top 12 ain't getting out of regional... That's tough
