What kids have a shot at not just medaling but winning states? Can anybody take Ridge over for District 5? Thoughts?

Gabriel, Glorioso, Oliver, Doak. These are just off the top of my head. Then 2nd tier maybe 2 years away Cahills, Buttry. I know I am forgetting some.

I'm gonna say no to anyone taking over D-5 from CR. Bedford is done. Berlin has proved to not come up in big matches. Until some of their top guys learn a pinning combination will be tough to unseat CR.

I don't see anyone taking D5 from CR next year. CR should be stronger next year than this year and very much on par (if not better) than the 2012-2013 team. Depends on where kids end up on weights.

I'm assuming he means there are some quality kids coming up like McCoy, Hobson, Williams, and a couple others that are going to have an immediate impact. Plus, I don't think Ridge is losing too many seniors. Ridge will be on top for years to come, because there are even more coming up after this 2015 freshman class, and more younger ones coming through the ranks.

I don't see anyone else in D5 with the talent coming up that Ridge has.

Just saw this blurb from RSpring ... which sounds GREAT for CR wrestling ...

http://springintosports.blogspot.com/20 ... tries.html

There are a few local (actually all Chestnut Ridge) wrestlers on the latest entry lists for this weekend's NHSCA National Championships in Virginia Beach. They are below:

Middle School Nationals
105 - Jared McGill, Chestnut Ridge

High School
Sophomore Nationals
152 - Brandyn Beaver, Chestnut Ridge
152 - Josh McGill, Chestnut Ridge
182 - Conner Buttry, Chestnut Ridge

In other Chestnut Ridge wrestling news, the Lions will again be returning to both the Brookville Ultimate Duals and the Powerade Tournament for the 2014-15 season. The Ultimate Duals will again feature Brookville, Burrell, Reynolds, Saegertown, and a sixth team to be named along with Chestnut Ridge.
