wow, great discussion. a lot of valid points. I do feel that we put too much pressure, time, concern on these kids. They are expected to train like professional athletes while maintain grading and learning to be young adults. I also agree that this does cause some lesser or new kids from coming out.
But in the same breath, how do you tell a kid not to work hard for a goal? I really believe we do too much in the youth, and we lose more studs than we gain. but everyone joins the rat race scared of being left behind.
once in JH and HS, I understand and agree with all the extra (if that is what the kid wants)....my two cents, that aren't worth a penny.

Good thoughts on eliminating some weights to 10 but couple that with having a true jv of team if frosh and soph and making jh 7th and 8th with less weights.
