Hey guys, just wanted to get the word out that one of our own could use some support. Clayton Lee, who won a District 5 title for Berlin at 106 as a freshman last season, was in an motorcycle accident on Saturday. He's in the ICU at Children's Hospital in Pittsburgh. I spoke with him this morning. He sounds good, but they're having problems getting the bleeding stopped where he broke his femur.
You can read the whole story here http://www.tribdem.com/sports/district-champion-in-intensive-care-after-motorcycle-accident/article_4b73e684-6730-11e7-83d9-b39a531e1a7f.html if you wish, but this post is more to get the word out about him than to drive traffic to a website.
The Berlin Wrestling Boosters have started a GoFundMe page to help the family with expenses. You can find it here, if you're willing and able to give: https://www.gofundme.com/healing-for-hoot
I understand not everyone is in a position to lend financial support. If you can't but just want to send him some well wishes, you can do that via Snapchat to claytonhootlee.
Hopefully they can get the issue sorted out quickly and he'll be on the road to recovery in no time.

What they all said. Sad to hear, read about an aspiring young person. They all think they're indestructible at that age.

Great news, everyone. They found that a combination of a blood disorder and the medicine he was on was what was causing the blood problems. He was moved out of the ICU unit Wednesday night and released from the hospital yesterday. He's still in a lot of pain, but can begin recovering at home right now.
Thank you to all who supported him and his family. In about 36 hours, we raised more than $1,300 to help his family with expenses, and his mom said so many people reached out to Clayton and wished him well. The family was so thankful and touched by the response. I couldn't be more proud of the wrestling community. It's awesome to see rivals on the mat pitch in and help one of their own off it. Chestnut Ridge and North Star booster clubs both donated to the fund, as did the father of Caleb Holderbaum, who Clayton beat in the district finals. The message from him was for Clayton to heal quickly because Caleb wants a rematch. How cool is that? Sports are awesome some times.

Great news to hear! My wife had just told me, so I figured you were going to post shortly. All parents and athletes alike need to see this. At the end of the day, sports don't mean nearly as much. Good luck Clayton! We hope to see you make a full recovery.
