Re: LHAC Championship
I put a Twitter poll up yesterday, and the Lions are clearly winning it. I think this one could be very close, however.
As one D6 insider told me, "they don't know about Beaujon's mystical tricks." That was clearly a compliment, not an insult. No disrespect to other coaches in the area, but Beaujon is the best I've covered in getting the matchups that he needs to win dual meets. Sometimes Westmont's had more talent than its opposition, but I've also seen him win dual meets when, on paper, they were overmatched.
Counter that with Chestnut Ridge, which has an outstanding team mentality. During the program's run over the past few years, they always work so hard for each other - either to get bonus points or save them. That often makes them a better dual meet team than tournament team.
Here are the projected lineups:
Wt. Chestnut Ridge W L Westmont Hilltop W L
106 Kai Burkett 15 3 Connor Lamantia 12 9
113 Nathan Holderbaum 12 6 Tanner Kushner 17 4
120 Ross Dull 10 4 Zane Blackburn 9 2
126 Gryphon Callihan 14 6 Connor Polacek 17 4
132 Trevor Weyandt 11 4 Roy Dunn 17 8
138 Luke Moore 9 8 Noah Korenoski 21 4
145 Baltzer Bollman 7 6 Ethan Kelly 20 1
152 Daniel Moore 7 5 Hudson Holbay 21 3
160 Seth Holderbaum 9 8 Camden Moors 13 11
170 Mason McVicker 2 0 Mason Muto 15 6
182 Jared McGill 18 0 Hunter Holbay 5 3
195 Austin Crouse 14 6 Tanner Dluhos 17 5
220 Duane Knisely 17 3 Noah Gresh 8 9
285 Dalton Seace 16 4 Max Yonko 20 2
161 63 212 71
As previous posters have said, the coin flip will be key. Although I have McGill listed at 182, I'd guess he'll be at 170. For Westmont to win, I think they need to get Muto away from McGill and see what he can do against McVicker/Claar. Well, that and go on a run from 113 to 152. 195 and 285 should be good matches. I'd give Ridge a slight edge in each.
What's your prediction?

Re: LHAC Championship
I checked with Bedford radio station. They are not covering it. I'll be tweeting results from my KnopsKnotes account, but I can also see about posting updates live to TribDem.com for those who don't use Twitter.Manfred wrote:Is this being covered by any radio or internet?
Here's a link to my preview in today's paper: https://www.tribdem.com/sports/unbeatens-chestnut-ridge-westmont-hilltop-to-clash-for-lhac-title/article_05093722-1df9-11e9-885d-d35ff3d087a5.html

As always, great stuff Eric. I'm sure there will be a big crowd. Any chance it will be sold out?

A couple of those are toss-ups, but I still think Westy wins, more convincingly than people think.

This isn't Lazors first rodeo. I'm sure he has every scenario laid out and ready to go

Any truth to the rumor this is his last rodeo this season??? Heard he wants to coach his daughter, and his boy isn't wrestling anymore? Who would take over if this is true?old school wrote:This isn't Lazors first rodeo. I'm sure he has every scenario laid out and ready to go

Re: LHAC Championship
Not sure if it is his last season. I'm not 100% positive but I think he was hired as a softball coach

Re: LHAC Championship
FYI - cell service is god awful at Westmont (please sign the petition for a tower when you see one)
As for the match - this is how dual meets used to be like when I was in HS! Full roster barn burners! Great for the sport!
Good Luck to all!
And as always - go HILLTOPPERS!
