Re: OMG Health Care Reform
Enamored? What has he done that hasn't besides run up the deficit? Oh, wait he hasn't done anything about Afghanistan, right? You call $300 million a payoff? Wow, just a payoff? You still dodged the question about Barry making it a point to "change" the "culture" in DC. Has he "changed" it? To me he has just advanced the status quo in DC with his henchman's infusion of Dirty Chicago Politics that has been the most corrupt in the country for decades. Is that the "change" we can "believe" in? Please defend this bum you vote for.once a runner wrote:Southpaw, I am not enamored with Obama's job performance so far. Politics in and of itself is nothing more than a game of bribery. I'll scratch your back if you scratch mine. At this point if the democrats pass health care legislation it's going to be a very weak bill. Rather than playing the game of politics by paying off constituents I think they should include the public option in their bill and let the republicans and wimpy democrats vote it down. Take it to the polls in 2010 and let the chips fall where they may. Perhaps it is just better to let the current system continue on the path of double digit increases. In 10 years far less people will have decent health care.
As far abortion goes, I'm somewhat torn on the issue. I do not believe abortions are right, but on the other hand they are the law of the land. I'm anti-smoking as well, but does that mean I have the right to dictate that anyone who contracts cancer due to smoking is not entitled to health care? Where do we draw the line between ones own moral compass and the laws of our country? After all, even the RNC had health care insurance that included abortions from 1991 until just a few weeks ago. I believe it was Politico that pointed out that tidbit of hypocrisy.
Finally comparing abortion with smoking? Pretty weak argument to solve your moral dilemma. At least the smoker's pay a "sin" tax on cigarettes. Smoking "may" cause cancer in some people but abortion always results in murder. My tax dollars shouldn't fund murder. I think the dems will push this thru as ruthlessly and lawlessly as possible because they know their goose is cooked in 11 months.

I know more than enough doctors, they are just regular people just like you and me. Its unfortant that people sometimes die OAR but if you think its bad now just wait. Lets blame big business for the wrongs of the United States, by the way, who provides you with a job? You expect to be paid for your services don't you? I happened to work with a kid who actually thought everything should be free, great idea but how realistic is it? Under our wonderful leader health care is going to be free but who is going to pay for it? Hey I am expecting to open up my paycheck from an evil company and have it read $2.19 someday.

Why?
Re: OMG Health Care Reform
59 to 41. The vote total on reform, now that a REPUBLICAN has overcome the 3 to 1 Democrat majority in Massachusetts to seize the seat formerly held by the late Teddy "the swimmer" Kennedy. The Prez had better start bailing soon, the bilge pumps can't handle all the incoming water. Thank you, GOD.
It ain't over until it's over.
