Remember all the no lobbyist money or influence campaign rhetoric from Barrry?? Questions are being raised regarding the relationship between White House senior adviser David Axelrod and a Chicago-based media firm he founded that still employs his son. Keepin mind Axelrod was Obama''s chief campaign strategist & current senior advisor & is close friend to Mayor Daly (one of his earliest clients)

Bloomberg reports AKPD Message and Media still owes Axelrod $2 million following his departure in December to work for President Obama. The firm is part of a multi-million-dollar advertising deal with Health Economy Now, a coalition that includes PHARMA, the lobbying group that represents the drug industry.

Some may wonder whether White House senior advisers earning millions of dollars paid for in part by the pharmaceutical industry — represents the kind of change Americans can believe in....White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs brushed off any criticism as "ridiculous" saying Axelrod left the firm to join public service.

A It's hard to imagine a situation in which Axelrod is still getting checks from a firm that was, in turn, employed by the drug lobby not drawing fire from the left....

Critics of President Obama’s health-care overhaul continue zeroing in on his senior adviser David Axelrod, whose former partners at a Chicago-based firm are the beneficiaries of huge ad buys — now at $24 million and counting — by White House allies in the reform fight.

The unwelcome scrutiny comes at an inopportune time as Obama seeks to shore up support for health care reform. It revolves around two separate $12 million ad campaigns advocating Obama’s health care plan that were produced and placed partly by AKPD Message and Media.
