Gas Taxes

So they passed the law to increase the gas tax by 28 cents, after rejecting it the day before, to make PA one of the most heavily taxed on gas in the nation. Is anybody else ticked off about this?

I have lots of questions. If the existing roads are in such bad shape why do we continue to build new? Wouldn’t it make sense to put a moratorium on new roads until the old are fixed? Isn’t that like building onto your house while the rest of it is falling down?

Do all transportation dollars go toward transportation projects currently?

Aren’t Republicans supposed to be for less taxes and smaller government?

They basically let the gas companies drill for next to nothing yet go after the working man for more fees and taxes.

What gets me is everyone (Penndot, Legislators, etc) complaining about needing money to take care of roads and bridges, yet every time they pave a road, they pave all of the way to the guide rails on both sides. Seems to me, we could save lots of money if we only paved the ROAD and maybe a foot or 2 past the white lines!
