2 sophomores I expect to get some D1 looks are Jesse Cooper of McCort and Ben Legath of Westmont. Legath looked really impressive as a freshmen. Cooper also made some big plays and had big hits during McCort's run last season.

Re: Scouts honor?
18 legitimate scouts ? I know a team that did not even know he existed?
Let's not start fabricating stories with cross checkers. Do not go to high on the number of scouts since there are only so many major league teams.
Let the chips fall where they may, the June draft will tell the tell.

Re: Scouts honor?
The kid from Central is nowhere near Urban.
Austin has been working with Rick and Mike for the whole winter..he is a young 17 year old highschool senior, which means he's got room to grow and add arm strength..
He actually throws 88-92...with two good secondary pitches...no one around here has that..
Austin is a legit top ten round draft pick...possibly 5-8..which means a good chunk of change...no one around here is that caliber pitcher...
Scouts buy into what Austin has been doing because they know he's already received pro instruction at ERA...with two top notch pitching coaches...which means he's already ahead of other high-school seniors who throw low 90's with no off-speed..
Top Ten Rounder...watch and see
Some of you on here...think 84 is 88-90...its just not

TomTucker - I think he will be drafted but not in the top 10 rounds, it would be nice but I would be surprised. This is a huge country and 88-92 from a right hander is not eye popping stuff to the organizations.

I'll bet right now he doesnt go in the top 10 rounds.
And hard to believe what comes out of ERA they add about 3 mph to every one of their students.

Well TomTucker you were sadly mistaken on the draft status of Austin Urban. I believe he will be drafted. The country is huge and this neck of the woods gets little respect in the baseball world.

Re: Scouts honor?
well i was wrong guys...in one way or another. Yes Austin Urban didn't go top 10 rounds. Rumor is he could have. I heard a team called in the 9th round offering $150k to sign, but Dad said no.
