AAABA
Re: AAABA
It was baseball. I was there, saw it. The runner is coming home full tilt, is entitled to the baseline. If you are the fielder, and are in the baseline, it's expected you are going to get run into as you are blocking the runners' access to the plate. Maudie is a big boy, packs a lot of momentum, de-cleats the fielder. He didn't drop his head, didn't lower a shoulder, straight up double forearm in front- offensive line thrust football blocking technique. But it's baseball. I saw nothing dirty. At the same time, I don't want to be either of them forced into that position.
It ain't over until it's over.

Re: AAABA
If it was a baseball play as you describe, why did he get ejected?
Re: AAABA
Tried again to give it away, but destiny? prevailed, and Johnstown has its first AAABA champion, even though in a watered down format. Could they have done it against a full 16 team field with the likes of Detroit, Baltimore, Washington, Chicago, etc. We may never know, and have to accept it for what it is. Congrats anyway to Martella's. Will there be a league next year.
