I see Moldy still has his love affair with PSU football and recruiting. Some things never change. If you know so much Moldy, why are you posting on here I thought you would have your own website or recruiting blog by now.

Ok, the WPIAL Insider kid made it seem like he was still going to keep it open, that's why I thought why bother committing.

It's still a long ways off, I just wouldn't recommend a kid to commit before his junior year. Those official visits become tempting.

I agree College Recruiting has gotten ridiculous. If a kids wants to commit, they should be able to sign on the spot. That would eliminate all these early committments, because kids would know a committment is binding.

Yeah basketball has an early signing period, no reason there shouldn't be one for football.

According to coach, that'll now make 25 DB's on PSU's roster.

Pitt's rivals site, Pantherlair, has a nice feature called the scholarship board. It's a breakdown by class and position as to what's exactly is on the roster. So I'm guessing we are taking walk-ons into consideration in counting 25 defensive backs?

Here's Pitt's roster breakdown

3 QBs
6 RBs
2 FBs
11 WRs
5 TEs
13 OL
8 DE
8 DT
12 LB
5 CB
7 S
2 K/P
3 available spots.

11 Seniors
10 Juniors
24 Sophomores
14 redshirt freshmen
23 freshmen

Pitt is expected to take roughly 15-16 players with only 14 available right now. Small recruiting class, but the Graham recruits left in big numbers when he bolted for ASU. Pitt is a young team in general with 37/83 are guys with freshmen eligibility.

What is a similar Penn State breakdown? How many kids do they have? 65?

Looks like there will be two fairly experienced teams when Pitt and Penn State play in 2016.

Yeah that game will be fun in general, but Voytik-Hackenberg both being seniors with multiple years of starting experience could really elevate that game.

Long ways away, but it'll sure be a lot more fun if both teams are good and experienced.
