Huge game for the Nittany Lions tonight at 6:30.  They are actually favorites in Indiana.  If PSU hopes to be a tournament team...

It's called the '80s. Ford was president, Nixon was in the White House, and FDR was running this country into the ground.

Typical Penn State game tonight, losing 74-70 at Indiana. Of the 70 points scored by the Nits, 69 were scored by the starters. Three subs played a total of 29 minutes in the game. They took 3 shots from the field, making none. Meanwhile, IU subs played 67 minutes, scoring 25 points. Chambers likes to stick with his starters, come hell or high water. Josh Reaves did not make the trip to Bloomington. He remained in State College "to attend to academic concerns".

Another loss in a very winnable game. These are the games PSU needs to start winning if they gonna turn the corner in the conference. Missing Reaves was a difference maker on the defensive end tonight.

PSU bench actually played 39 minutes not 29 and one of Indiana's starters only played 6 minutes hence the reason their bench minutes were so high. Not disagreeing that PSU gets very little from their bench outside of Wheeler and typically Bostick who started in Reaves place tonight.

Rechecked the stats of the game on BWI. You are right. The subs for PSU played 39 minutes. But in reality, that's even worse. In 39 minutes (instead of 29) , 3 subs only took 3 shots from the field, and still made none. They made only 1 point (which means they missed a foul shot too). And BWI is actually blaming the loss on Reaves not playing tonight.

Reaves would've made a difference for sure.

But for a coach to pin the loss on a kid who has academic problems? Maybe if his subs played more earlier in the season, THAT would have made a difference. Hey, the Nits only needed 5 more points. They missed 6 foul shots.

Having double the turnovers compared to assist won't win many conference games either.

Their 3 conference losses are by 6, 4, and 1 point they just need to start finding ways to win these close games and making foul shots/reducing turnovers would be a good start.
