Tomlin and Turdburger need to go. It's not about the play it's more about the mentality. They are holding this team back.

Now that i can agree withCrimson's Ghost wrote:You shouldn't lose a home playoff game to a team that was quarterbacked by Blake Bortles while scoring 42 points. It just shouldn't happen.

Re: Bell is at it again
Lol hate to say it but with how many superstars they have on offense I really don’t think it would matter who the qb was.
Re: Bell is at it again
Get rid of Ben? He just had probably one of the best games of his career. His interception was a heck of a play by the defender and the fumble was a very lucky bounce. 469 yards, 37/58, 5 TD's. We scored 42 points. The offense wasn't the problem except for 4th down sweep plays instead of sneaking behind your pro-bowl center and guard. Coaching killed this game. Was Ben getting thrown into the ground well after not a penalty? Tom Brady gets pelted with flags on that. How about Bryant getting raped on a catch or Brown draggin the defender down the field n still making the catch?
Defense was the problem. Worst game all season. They need 5 yards and we need a stop....so you give them 10 yard cushions every time. Ridiculous.

He had so many yards caz all of the superstars made catches that were unbelievable. Plus playing from behind all game.
Re: Bell is at it again
They did make great catches while having defenders draped all over them, but how can we put Ben down for this game? Im usually all for blaming the quarterback, but not when you score 42 points. The offense finally did what it should've all year.

An NFL team should never lose a game when they score 42 points, period! The offense was not the problem. The receivers made great catches on balls that were put in the only place they could catch them while the Jags defenders were literally grabbing their jerseys and mauling them in route. That being said, the 42 could have been more if not for the incompetence of Todd Haley. If you watched the Jags all season, anyone can see that they are lightning fast and aggressive on the edges. They just do not get beat on out routes and plays that are stretched wide. Pitches, quick screens/hitches, and short outs should not have even been part of the game plan, yet Haley went to these plays at the most critical moments. Tomlin said in his post game conference that his team “didn’t win the critical moments”, but the coaches really didn’t put them in the best position to do so. That’s inexcusable! It’s a stubborn, bullheaded mentality, and it’s a problem that Tomlin and his staff have always had. Just like the refusal to abandon his “bend but not break zone coverage”. The problem is that these Steelers cannot stop the run, so they “break” time and time again in the red zone!!! Countless times the Jags has 3rd and 5-8 yards and the corners gave them the sticks to prevent the big play. No press coverage, no QB pressure, just stubborn “we’re going to do what we do” football. Last week, the Bills pressed the young receivers and forced Bortles into tough throwing windows, and he was lost. I just do not understand how that was the game plan that our coaching staff thought would get out of the stadium with a win.

There are a lot of bad quarterbacks in the league right now, and that prevents a lot of OK teams from making the playoffs. Roethlisberger is still better than probably 20 quarterbacks, if not more. I don't think I'd wish the guy out the door just yet. They should draft the QB they like this year in the first or second round and give the kid a year behind Ben before he retires. There seems to be 5-7 names that could be drafted in the first 2 rounds, not a terrible year to get a QB.

No, and the Browns will draft the crappiest of the bunch so the good options should still be available for the Steelers.Crimson's Ghost wrote:There are a lot of bad quarterbacks in the league right now, and that prevents a lot of OK teams from making the playoffs.
