Bell is at it again

Post by konjo78 »

A top story on ESPN right now is Bell saying he would sit out and or retire if tagged again...

Grant it a tag would mean he is paid over 14 million dollars for one year, he is making 12 this season, and turned down a 15 million per year deal last year.... Why come out and talk about this during playoffs???
Steelers will have 3 options for him.

1. Pay and risk extremely overpaying bell for the contract he wants.
2. Tag him and see if this is a bluff, if he does sit out or retire then no one gets hil and its his choice.
3. Trade him for draft picks and value.

I vote for option 2. Play his bluff. See if he is willing to give a 14 million payday.

Let him go be a rapper or play for someone else.
Money should be spent on the following things.
1. Quarterback
2. Offensive Line
3. Defensive Line
4. Defensive Backs
5. Wide Receivers/Running Backs/Linebackers/Tight Ends
6. Kicker
7. Punter

I feel the best teams over time have had this order of players playing an important role to their team.

Yeah, as far as Steeler attitude, he's no Harris, Bleier, or Bettis. #2. Let him BUY a $100 mil. insurance policy.
It ain't over until it's over.

Inside linebacker should be number 1 on the list. Ryan might not ever play again, and that’s one spot on the field we need to sure up. Offensive line?! Really don’t they have 3 going to the pro bowl? Lol glad you ain’t the gm of the Steelers.

A better headline for this thread is konjo78 is at it again.

Remember this?

"With Bell refusing to report to training camp due to a contract dispute would this be the best time to try and trade him while his value is high?? At this point as a fan ive grown annoyed of him. Yes he has great talent and is definitely a top back in this league but he has a nack to not be on the field.

Whether its by suspension or injury bell has almost found a way every season to miss substantial time! With him not reporting for training camp ill be more than happy to see him traded elsewhere... Its only time before he is banned a full year for a failed drug test because his character has shown its all about him and not about his team"

How about this nonsense?

"He says 9-1 today on twitter. The steelers should do 1 of 3 things.

1. Bench him early and see how back ups do.

2. Run him until he is gassed

3. Trade him.

Either way he needs a punishment somehow for literally failing to show up for no reason. Its an embarassment to the team"

If grumpy old white fans ran the Steelers!

I'm not saying this is where they should spend their money this year. I am saying, overall, this is where you spend your money and who you pay!  You want to win?  Have the positions I listed as the best positions on your team in that order.  Pay those guys.

You realize kickers win or lose most games right?

I don't blame Bell. He's been the 16th best highest paid running back in the league since 2013. There haven't 15 backs better than Bell since that time. He should want to be the highest paid back in the league, since he is the best back in the league.

He could, ya know, not make headlines two days before a playoff game and keep his issues in house. But his sentiments aren't wrong.
