I’m not sure Happ is much of an improvement over what they have. They already have a whole rotation of plus 4 ERA guys. Yes he has 10 wins, but he’s 35 and has struggled of late. Maybe he does help, but I can’t see giving up young talent for him. I would only go after a legit top of the rotation guy, and there just aren’t any out there minus deGrom. I do think you’re right that landing him is a pipe dream.

I guess that would indicate they’re looking to move Vasquez?  They could probably get a nice little haul for him as almost every contender is looking for bullpen help.

I would think they are looking to get Vazquez a set-up man in that scenario. 
If they were 10 under, I'd probably trade Vazquez though.
