Pirates Second Half

As usual, the Pirates finish the first half strong.  Happens every year.  So heading into the All Star break, they're still pretty far out of the division lead, but they should be 5-6 out of a wild card spot.  At the end of the day, I don't think this team is really going to make the playoffs - they just aren't that good.  They aren't THAT bad, either.  That's what they were projected to be, and that's basically what they have been.
So having said that, what do you do with the team for the second half?  You are the manager and general manager. What does this team look like on Friday if you were the one in charge?

We are in the same place with the pirates year after year now.

They are not hot garbage by they are not playoff contenders. My guess is theyll trade 1 or 2 starters away for prospects and end the season 10-20 games under .500

Also since the trade deadline is approaching, let's play, "Should they trade 'em?"

Corey Dickerson -
Jordy Mercer -
Josh Harrison -
David Freese -
Ivan Nova -
Francisco Cervelli -

Alternate scenario one - The Pirates open the All-Star break losing 10 in a row....
Should they trade....

Gregory Polanco -
Staring Marte -
Felipe Vazquez -

Alternate Version #2 - The Pirates win 10 in a row to start the second half
Should they trade....

Mitch Keller -

I think your preseason prediction was 62-100.  Pirates would need to go 14-51 in the second half for that to happen.

Itd be better for the org if they were 62-100

Perhaps, but that was just a bad prediction.

I would agree with that. But something is true about their record now and that record. Neither is putting them into the playoffs.

Also since the trade deadline is approaching, let's play, "Should they trade 'em?"
In this scenario, the Pirates stay right around .500.

Corey Dickerson - Probably, he should have OK value at this point.
Jordy Mercer - I'd keep him through the end of the year.
Josh Harrison - I'd like to get rid of him; but I doubt he has a very good trade value at this point.
David Freese - Yeah, no real need to keep him around.
Ivan Nova - He may have decent value if the starting market is low - trade him.
Francisco Cervelli - Before the most recent concussion, he had really good trade value.  Now.....?

Alternate scenario one - The Pirates open the All-Star break losing 10 in a row.... Should they trade....
Gregory Polanco - They should look into it at least.
Staring Marte - No, he's their only really good player and he's underpaid as it is. He's always a good bargain for the Pirates.
Felipe Vazquez - Only if you get a king's random like the Yankees got for Chapman two years ago.

Alternate Version #2 -
The Pirates win 10 in a row to start the second half Should they trade....
Mitch Keller - Probably not, it's just not the year to go all-in.  Especially if they didn't in 2015.

I don’t care enough anymore to type that much.... if they can’t dump nutting and hurdle what’s the point?..... only one I’d be happy to trade away is Polanco.
