Yeah Archer was sick today apparently.  Wasn't efficient, but he had some moments started the game 6 up, 6 down. Just ran out of gas early.

Games like today are why they went and got Kela. Get to the 7th and it’s over.  I think they’d like Crick to finish the 8th (honestly, im not sure why Hurdle brought in a lefty against Ianetta who hits lefties well...it took a superhuman play by Frazier to end the threat) but the end of the bullpen is tough as nails!

Archer needs to get his pitch count down if he’s going to get deeper into games though. He throws a lot of pitches especially since he throws the slider almost half the time. But I think he will eventually settle in & play well for them

Clint Hurdle does a lot of some stupid things, but calling up a rookie for no reason to start in the middle of a playoff chase may have taken the cake for him.

Off day this Monday, starters have been good all week.... Clint Hurdle, "Hey let's give them a break and call up a rookie!"

Did Hurdle make that call or did Huntington after consulting the team’s sleep coach, chief nutritionist and the analytics staff?

It’s 7:50 and I’m 4th to comment on misery. Fire whoever made the decision. You just solidified your rotation to screw it up. 10 runs and 17 hits and you lose because again we can’t have common sense to keep with the rotation. Let a guy get lit up for nothing

They traded for Chris Archer and they are 4.5 games out of a playoff spot. Whether or not the organization believes it or not, they’re in one anyway.

It was Hurdle. He used to manage in Colorado and he came up with this weird explanation that pitchers need an extra day if they pitch in Colorado or something, and other teams typically don’t do that from my understanding.

Not only did they screw up last night, it changed the rotation for next week. Taillon and Archer would’ve pitched against the Cubs at home and now they aren’t.
