He was healthy. Tomlin said he was able to come in a series earlier than he did.

Re: Steelers
You know how many times he has played with broken fingers, hand, ankle, foot or knee issues in his career? Report yesterday said he had a rib injury and based on the few passes he threw he wasnt exactly looking 100%.Bagman wrote:Ben Legit hurt ? Explain.... He finished the half and was ready to come back in with 5 to go ????

Re: Steelers
Qbs usually dont. Again the past 3 games the steelers defense have given up 39 points in the 4th quater.
Want to win close games keep that number under 20

If Ben was healthy he would have never left the game.

Re: Steelers
He was able to come in a series sooner, he chose not to and waited until the team was losing. Roethlisberger is usually a pretty predictable guy.

Re: Steelers
Tomlin's reasoning for not putting Roethlisberger in sooner.
"We were in the rhythm and flow of the game."
Josh Dobbs was on the field for 4 possessions: Punt, Turnover on downs, interception, punt.
Great flow.

"He got looked at at halftime. He got treatment. He came back out. We were waiting to see if he was going to be able to come back in - he was. Probably could have come in a series or so sooner. But we were in the rhythm and flow of the game. He was ready to go when he got back out there."

Re: Steelers
Ben has shown for 10+ years if its his choice he will be in there. Obviously something made the team not want to risk his health. If they would of made a stop everyone would be talking about him and his toughness.
The quote really highlights ben stating he wants to be in but they kept him out. Probably doesnt state he 100% could of as well
Make a stop on defense and you win, very simple

Re: Steelers
My read on the situation is this:
Ben was hurt, and he stayed in the locker room longer than everyone. I don't see any reason to dispute that.
Ben was probably fine shortly thereafter, but he was waiting until the Steelers were losing so he could be the hero and win them the game. The Raiders go up and almost immediately Ben put on his helmet. You could see it from a mile away.
If the Raiders threw an interception on that drive, Ben stays on the sideline. Everyone knows that's how he is.
