I just read the bedford gazettes top local sport stories of the year.I think they missed the ridge boys track team!Didn't see it even in honorable mention. When a team is on a 2 year win streak in dual meets and has won every sideling hill meet ever run .Not to mention back to back district titles to go along with a prestigous west central coaches meet win.I feel they at least could have been mentioned. Not a whisper, dropped the ball on this one fella's!

Absolutely dropped the ball. This was one of the best track teams in Ridge history. 53-2 record for senior class, back to back D5 champs, 7 time Sideling Hill champs, WCC meet champs, NBCAA meet champs, 7th at Shippensburg Invite, and many school records broken. Forget HM this team should have been in the top ten somewhere.

It wasn't note worthy. Bedford had a similar run where they were something like 45-0-1 over a four year period from 2003-2007 with 3 district championships, multiple state place winners and it was against much stiffer competition (i.e. not the sideling hill league) and they weren't mentioned

Sorry walter it was very note worthy.Take off the bison glasses,if the gazette didn't mention the bisons during that run shame on them they should have(but I highly doubt the BEDFORD GAZETTE didn't say anything!).As far as it was against stiffer competition the district is still comprised of the same teams, ridge has run bedford during those years.Don't be so quick as to say the sideling hill was a group of weak teams.I believe NBC boys and girls and Everett boys teams would have faired very well recently in other conferences as well.Besides when stories of mens fast pitch softball make it, I think there might be room to give props to highschool teams who do a tremendous job!

Checked your numbers walter you are way off base. From 2005 to 2007 you guys were 37-8-2.I don't remember a west central coaches meet win for the bedford boys in that time frame. Also you lost to ridge in 2 out of 3 dual meets from those years. All facts were gathered from spring previews courtesy of the gazette.Anyway I think the bedford teams were worthy of mention then, and I think the ridge boys shouldn't have been snubbed now!

Bedford has an LHAC schedule. That was my point of having tougher competition and still having a long win streak. However, I do agree that having men's slowpitch softball as one of the top stories is garbage, and the editor who let it come out is garbage! I'm a man I'm 40!

Hey level 7 you better wake up and smell the coffee I don't know what garbage you are referring to but District 5 has been very solid for the last 5 or more years on both the boys and girls sides. We have had multiple medals at the state meet on both the girls and boys sides the last several years, and several of them in the top 3.Not bad for one of the smallest districts in the state.I believe this garbage district is going to have some solid teams again this year also.As far as a dual meet schedule we run many teams out of disrict and do quite well!Look at last years west central coches meet champs I believe it was a distict 5 team.I also think you wil find one or two in the running again this year.Don't be so smug, bigger doesn't always mean bettter!

Maybe level7 would like to let us know who the good teams are? Then we can compare.
