Congrats to Caleb Kephart on 4,000 Yards

Post by PortagePride »

With the post about "Milestones" the other day I'd like to acknowledge and send Congratulations to Caleb Kephart for becoming Portage's third running back with 4000 career yards rushing in last night's win over Meyersdale. Kephart joins Mike Chobany 4,017 (1974-1976) and Mike Sinosky 4,427 (2006-2009). He now sits at 4,200 career yards and needs just 228 yards in the Mustangs final two regular season games + playoff's to become Portage's All-Time Career rushing leader.

I'm assuming you mean for his career Coach ?!?!? His numbers are as follows to THIS POINT....

29 Games - 361 Carries for 4200 Yards 11.63 YardsPerCarry 144.84 YardsPerGame 60 TD's

and to show a little of his versatility his receiving stats....

23 Receptions 511 Yards 7 TD's

youngbuck just so YOU know, none of these stats include his freshman season spent at Bishop Carroll where I don't believe he even saw the field so they wouldn't change anyways if they were added.

I saw all three play; Kephart and Sinosky couldn't carry Chobany's jock strap.

Still makes me shake my head, how some can not stop what they know is coming. 11.5 yards a carry doesn't say much for the game planning of the competition. Congratulation to the young man. Will be interesting to see the yardage totals as the season progresses into the playoffs.

Now I'm shaking my head. There's not a coach out there that doesn't know this. The obvious key is having the personnel capable of getting the job done.

The Portage playbook has always been roughly 10 plays. It works against most WestPac teams, not a lot has changed play calling wise through the years.
