Minutes from the meeting say it will be a closed tournament for basketball this year.  I'm guessing it will be similar to the way football is set up?

The District Six playoffs used an "open" format for years. Meaning, if you were 0-22, you could enter the playoffs if you wanted, it was open to anyone.  Now it'll be capped at a certain number.

The D6 basketball fields should be:

6A and 5A
2 teams

4A
4 teams

3A
8 teams

1A and 2A
12 teams

Well that won't work considering 1A only has 10 teams. 2A and 3A both have 14 teams. 4A has 6. Those are for boys. Girls have 12 1A, 14 2A, 15 3A and only 2 4A.

Maybe they should wait until the 2017-18 season to implement this.  It may change the way schedules are constructed.

How many of the 10 single A teams from district 6 can make the playoffs this year?
Since it's not an open system anymore. BC currently is 8th in points outta of the 10 teams. They need to get some wins, but that's not gonna be easy in the LHAC. Maybe Cambria Heights, Saint Joseph, and Penn Cambria at home.
Everyone else on their schedule is probably a loss. They're not playing good ball right now.

The top 8 of the 10 single-A teams qualify for the district tournament with the top 3 finishers qualifying for the state tournament.
