Steelers vs. Patriots

Post by 12HankQB »

I hate to even suggest that the Steelers are favored in this match up. We've been saying this will finally be the year to beat Tom Tom many times and have always fallen short. I think the Steelers do overcome the hump this year, but it won't be pretty. Brady will still score lots of points, but the 3 B's and possibly a 4th in Boswell should be able to top what the Pats put up. Has a team ever had the top rusher, receiver, and passer? The Steelers have a chance to have that this year (baring that they don't get passed in week 16 when they all sit.). Hit Brady hard and score points.

The Steelers, Patriots or both could easily be beaten a week before the AFC Championship Game.  I'll take the Ravens to beat one of them.

If they have to play Jacksonville, I'm not so sure.

oh okay, not surprising though. The Patriots record coming off a loss is outstanding along with Tom Brady's record vs Pittsburgh. 7-2 in the regular season and 3-0 in playoffs...I hate them..

Brady gets rid of the ball extremely quick by hitting short routes. Miami D-backs played close and physical with NE receivers, allowing an extra second for the D-line to get hits on Brady. Pittsburgh's D-backs generally don't play that way and historically we've not gotten any pressure on Brady because of it. With Shazier out it's going to be hard to find a matchup for Gronk. Miami gave the blueprint, but if our secondary can't follow it, it'll be samo samo.

I don't have that much confidence that the Steeler D will slow down the Patriots.  When the Steelers are on O, I could see a scenario where the Pats stop them enough where the game will not be close say 38-17.  That being said, one factor that favors the Steelers is this.  The Pats played away Monday night and then away this Sunday.  The Steelers played home on Sunday, and then they play home this Sunday.  That is a scheduling quirk that very seldom happens - in fact - I thought the NFL tried to eliminate it completely because  it is unfair.  With the scheduling issue - the Pats get almost two less days of preparation than the Steelers.  That could be an issue to tighten the game up some.  I will be rooting for the Steelers and hope they win - but I have no idea what will happen - sometimes the Steelers play a lot better against good teams - it just seems it isn't against the Pats.

I think the rule is just wrong. Has the ball, knee is down, crosses the plane. He has clear possession and the clear turn to reach for the end zone is a football move. Rewrite the rule
