Should have posted this a week ago. The mindset of these kids is to win a State Championship as the only goal is good stuff. I had the pleasure or displeasure lol of coaching against the Tigers. Jim Roth is as good as they come. He is a good dude and a class act.

Is this the same Southern Columbia that does not face class advancement like the PIAA has pushed on to other schools like Alliquipa?

I think that there are alot of schools that have a goal of winning a state title.

Haha, no not blasting you. But it is somewhat silly to think they’re good because they have the mindset of winning a state title, only because every team starts off like that. They do certainly have a rich winning culture which you can’t discredit.

The PIAA caters to the East teams. So Southern gets to stay AA which some years they would still win AAA. The 15 min move to Cumberland Valley for the title games shows what the PIAA thinks of the western teams. Altoona gave them a way better offer to move it centrally in the state.

Do you think Jim Roth is a good enough coach to take over Johnstown and win more than 2 games in a season? That would be the true measuring stick of his coaching greatness.
