Re: NHL announces playoffs coming in july-august

Not a hockey expert, but between all of the youth leagues, high schools, travel teams, clubs, college teams, junior teams, pros, etc.. aren't most ice surfaces used all day? I would think rinks are equipped to handle high-volume usage. I think they mean the rinks being used all day in addition to t...

Re: NHL announces playoffs coming in july-august

I guess the Cranberry practice facility will be in heavy use as well. But I'm guessing all games will have to be at Consol, I don't think there's another rink that has the television, press box facilities that could produce a game. I'm guessing most cities don't have two such arenas though.

Re: NHL announces playoffs coming in july-august

Pittsburgh has the potential to be the Eastern Conference Hub. Is there a secondary arena they could use besides Consol? Seems like that would be a lot of hockey for one arena.

Re: State Champs

That’s cool for the team and I was thinking for that bracket specifically, we had 4 District Six teams left out of 8. Had a chance for an All-D6 Western Final and an All-D6 State Championship. Stinks we didn’t get to see that play out. That doesn’t happen for District 6 all the time, everything has ...

That this virus became politicized is unfortunate.
There was literally no way around it unfortunately.

Re: Fall Sports

I didn't bring up 'the government' into the thread. Fear mongering and distrust about the government was brought up previously, I was just adding my two cents into it.

Re: Fall Sports

45 said it was under control in February and COVID wasn't a worry, and to see where we are now, yea I lost trust there as well. Even if the numbers aren't as crazy as they were said to be in March, they are significantly higher than what was said in February. Had we taken a few measures before March...

Re: Fall Sports

I'm not expecting a football season, but still am sort of holding out some kind of hope. But I just don't see it.

Re: Moving up

I’ve been OK with Applebee’s not being open for a few weeks if it saves some lives. It sucks for small businesses, it sucks for me and people in my line of work too, I’ve been directly affected. But I don’t understand how other countries have done a better job of at least containing it before going ...
