Re: WPIAL...The Best Football District in PA
This is an interesting topic. WPIAL has had an incredible post season run this year. Making it to the state finals is a wonderful accomplishment for all the kids involved. I agree that with a larger population, you significantly improve your chances of success. I know each district only sends one re...

Re: Saturday Scores
Oh, I was disappointed not to win the 50/50. If you are from Tyrone, you should be having a party tonight sponsored by the guy that won. $1100+……not bad for attending a high school football game!

Re: Saturday Scores
Excellent football game. I thought Tyrone did exactly what they needed to win this game. The big play to start the game was huge. Getting on top allowed the Eagles to control the game. The 4 and goal from the 2 that got stuffed was a game changer. Moving the sticks with the spectacular line play sea...

Re: Mt. Union vs. Tyrone AA Championship Thread
I have a few flaws with Raven's argument. First, don't talk about the "big boys" of the MAC. I'll give you Central, Clearfield, and Chestnut Ridge. The rest were just big schools based on classification. Second, you say that Mt. Union's line is no where near as good as Tyrone's line. I think you'll ...

Re: Neutral Fields for second rounds
Personally, I like it the way it is. Higher seed gets a home game until the finals. That rewards the team for having a good regular season.
However, I think it would be cool to see the finals moved to Beaver Stadium. I know that's not really a reality, but it's a cool idea!

Re: Neutral Fields for second rounds
Anyone know how the money works out does the hosting school get all the gate revenue or does the PIAA or the district get a cut I know that the school gets $1 for every ticket sold at the school for pre-sale tickets. Any ticket sold at the gate all goes to D6. After all of the games are played, I b...

Re: Neutral Fields for second rounds
The advantage of being the higher seed is that you get to play at home. You earn that right by playing well in the regular season. I would guess that attendance is better by playing at the higher seed's home field. Some fans would not like to travel for a semi-final game. Plus, the home team should ...

Re: Portage vs. Bishop Guilfoyle D6 A Championship Thread
Stop comparing Clairton and other inter city public schools to D6 public schools. It's all about talent pool. If Portage or Bellwood or whoever was in the city they would be good too. Its all about talent pool. That's why Bellwood and Tyrone are good. Their talent pool is Altoona area, an urban are...
