Re: State Finals

In girls action, the AA game was a close one. Neumann-Goretti squeaks out a nail biter 79-35. At one time the score was 75-25. The PIAA should reimburse everyone that attended the "A" boys and "AA" girls games. That is embarrassing and those teams should be embarrassed for accept...

State Finals

Now that the state finals teams have been set, I noticed that Constitution is playing for the "A" title. Why in the world would they choose to play at the "A" level? They shouldn't feel all that great about winning a state title at the smallest level. I noticed on Maxpreps that t...

Re: Friday night boys picks

How does 3 out of 8 boys state quarterfinals games end in 30 point blowouts? 38 point win and a 32 point win in 2 of the 4 "A" games. 29 point win in one of the "AAA" games. This should not be happening this deep into the state playoffs. The PIAA seriously needs to consider level...

Re: AA Boys Playoff Open Thread.

Couldn't the same rationale be used to compare the D7 teams to the Philly teams? Don't the teams from the Philadelphia City League tend to dominate at the state level? Is this a scheduling reason, or just a product of better basketball? My thought is that the PIttsburgh region offers a better basket...

Re: Girls A and AA western bracket

Looks like if Bellwood wants to make a run in AA girls, they will need to beat the entire WPIAL. All 7 teams won. Bellwood is the only team left in the west not from the Pittsburgh region.

Re: AA Boys Playoff Open Thread.

onlyone23....you are absolutely right, it is why they play the game. As stated earlier, I am a DX guy and hope that Mercyhurst can pull it off. West Middlesex is the best DX AA has to offer, and chances do not look real good for them. Maybe Mercyhurst can pull off the win because you are right abou...

Re: AA Boys Playoff Open Thread.

I've seen 3 of the 4 district 6 teams play. Blairsville will struggle against a team with the same type of athletes. Their two big guys (Williams and Henderson) protect the paint very well. The point guard (Livingston) handles pressure well and can score. The rest of the team is very average. The gu...

Re: Eastern half of the brackets for A and AA

My apologies for the incorrect information. I misinterpreted the "prep" roster. I was just on the school's website and was browsing under the athletics category. I was just assuming that was their roster for this year's high school team. It still amazes me that a school that couldn't stay ...

Re: Eastern half of the brackets for A and AA

Just a little bit of information. Found this on the Hilda Goodling Impact Academy website. Here is a list of their basketball player roster for the 2014-15 season. Wonder why "A" teams can't compete in the state tournament? If you look at their schedule, it's amazing to see the teams they ...

Re: Cetral paying off refs again?

Why is it when a team loses the first thought is to blame the officials? No doubt that officials in all sports blow calls. Try seeing it from both sides.

Trojan17, if you truly thought that officiating didn't matter in the outcome, why did you post?
