Re: Officiating
If you look at the faces of the officials across the board in all sports, you aren't seeing too many new faces in any sport. For what ever reason, people hesitate or have no interest in getting into officiating. I am sure that makes it difficult in scheduling officials for schools for big games. The...

Re: Officiating
Quality officiating is subjective. It depends on what type of officiating plays into your teams style of play. Some local officials let you play and some call every touch foul that there is. As long as they are consistent throughout the game, the kids can adjust to their style. I hope that portage m...

Re: Thoughts on the WestPac Championship this year?
Is shades only loss in the westpac south to Shanksville? If Shanksville wins, they are in. If shade wins and they share identical section records - it goes to tie breakers. Overall record... Common opponents... Tournament play does not count.

Re: ct vs portage girls
People can say its the refs... Some call it tight and some let them play. Sometimes you hear of unruly fans. Usually their hearts are in the right place it is their mouths that may not be. Sounds like this was two good teams that let it all on the floor. The kids have to adapt to the environment and...

Re: Boys District 5 AA
Once March Madness rolls around, guard play becomes more significant. Out of the teams mentioned, I would roll with the better guard play. All teams that are mentioned are athletic and experienced. All have good coaches. Who has the best guards - therein lies your favorite.

Re: Playoff ?
The .500 rule exists for all in d5. All districts playoffs requirements can be found on each districts website. It varies for each. Sometimes it seems rules are made as they go. Recently, there have been d5 schools make it in that were under .500. Doesn't make sense to me. One can say that an upper ...

Re: D5 Girls Ratings
Hollenshead was the player that impressed me. She has the total package. I didn't see all teams play, but from what I saw - she is the best player in the district. She is smooth.

Re: D5 Girls Ratings
If.... Southern Fulton returns all or the majority of the team that they put on the floor last year - they will be very tough to beat. Really nice team that was fun to watch.
