Re: BG Rebuilding
Recruiting means you get a free ride. After all said and done BGs tuition is around $7000. I seriously doubt a Catholic school is giving anyone a free ride. If a family decides they can afford it its their choice. As far as Altoona goes the AD own kids go to Catholic school. Whats thats say about A...

Re: BG Rebuilding
Regarding PIAA rules (pardon my ignorance)
-Could BG play up a class in football without affecting the school's other sports?
-If BG elected to move up, could they just as easily move back down if/when the talent pool shrinks?

Re: Class A State Title Thread: Bishop Guilfoyle vs. Clairton
I wouldn't miss it. The game in '14 was one of the most exciting I've seen. I'm not wishing myself a heart attack, but it would be thrilling if this came down to a last second, long (not too long) BG field goal attempt.

Re: Class A State Title Thread: Bishop Guilfoyle vs. Clairton
Maybe it's time to pull another thread into this one. BG can't go toe-to-toe with Clairton in terms of athleticism or big-play potential, unless..... Evan Chadbourne is truly back. Single A State Player of the Year last year, over 2,000 yards rushing, and throws as well as Trybus. Last week he saw j...

Re: Class A State Title Thread: Bishop Guilfoyle vs. Clairton
CalPreps (with 83% accuracy for PA this season) just released their projection: Clairton 28 BG 26. That sounds about right. We're gonna get a good one, folks. CalPreps may score 83% throughout the season, but the majority of regular season games ARE easy to predict. I'd place more stock in this pr...

Re: Class A State Title Thread: Bishop Guilfoyle vs. Clairton
I think you meant to say the last three games, which is a valid point. Noah Hamlin was hurt for the Northgate and Jeannette games. The story with this Bears team is the defense. Farrell started inside the Bears 20 four times and came up with just one touchdown. But the lack of offense is a true sta...

Re: Chadbourn To Return
He got several plays on defense. His skills were neither showcased nor tested.youngbuck wrote:So did he get in , any updates on the hot topic of the week? Doesn't sound like Irwin shared the load.
Irwin's just a punishing runner.

Re: Class A State Title Thread: Bishop Guilfoyle vs. Clairton
The demolition that BG has laid on opponents in the playoffs is scary. BG will dominate the line of scrimmage and time of possession, but Clairton will break some big plays. BG's weakest link is kickoff coverage. There is no way they can risk a return by Wade or Hamlin. Somerset found this Achilles ...

Re: Chadbourn To Return
It seems to me coffin corner hates. Bg. And another thing I have never seen so much Complaining about Chadbourne return No hate for BG. Will be rooting for them to win their third and hope to go to Hershey , but the situation sucks. So Barrish, Conrad or someone else who played all year and did...

Re: Chadbourn To Return
Penn State only offered him preferred walk-on before the injury. It was reported in the Altoona Mirror that he was at the PSU-Iowa game on an official visit, long after committing to Lehigh. He may still be mulling his options. If he's been given a FULL medical clearance, and he wants to play, I'd g...
