Re: John Hayes Retires

Nick Lovrich is the new football coach, he was on the staff as a coordinator previously and is the Head Boys T&F Coach.  He is retaining the same staff.
Charlie Birch, who is and will continue to be the JH Football coach takes the reigns as Athletic Director.

Re: Tuesday 2/27 District 6 Basketball Playoffs

6:00 is correct and it is not the 6-AAAA championship it's the 5/6-AAAA Championship....maybe nitpicking but they've got an equal number of teams and D5 is actually running the tournament this year (thus the UPJ site).  while I'm nitpicking.  the Ridge vs Everett game is not a District 5 championshi...

Re: XFL

I would like to see him establish teams in college hotbeds and feed off of college football popularity by keeping graduates of surrounding regional colleges on one XFL team.  Examples: Birmingham with players from Alab, Auburn, UAB A Pa. team with Pitt, PSU and Temple players A Michigan team with Mi...

Re: Whos your 4 college football playoff teams?

Something is bothering me and I would like to clarify.....Alabama was the Co-CHAMPION of their division of the SEC.  They were tied with Auburn at 7-1.  Auburn represented their division in the championship game based on tiebreaker criteria since they can't play it off.  By the same token, Penn Stat...

Re: Whos your 4 college football playoff teams?

If they are to pick the 4 best teams I personally don't see any argument:  Clemson, Oklahoma, Georgia and Alabama
If they opt to go conference champions only then the argument is Ohio St. and USC and I'm not even sure Ohio St. wins that argument.

Re: Making Single A Fun Again

Correct that a district cannot leave the PIAA however WPIAL threats in the past have involved all there member schools leaving the PIAA and thus becoming a separate entity and leaving nobody in PIAA District 7.

Re: Konjos Top 10 College football rankings Week 13

I think next week's Championship Games are basically Quarterfinals with the SEC winner and ACC winner guaranteed to get in. Wisconsin and Oklahoma, I believe, control their own destiny as well. Alabama comes back into play if either Wisky or Okie lose.  If they both lose, well then we have serious c...

Re: New PIAA Classification Ranges Posted

I don't know/can't think of any other situation in any other sport or classification where the state tournament is a breeze compared to the regular season.....that just totally backward from the way it's supposed to be.  They go from battling with Forest Hills and Johnstown to Claysburg-Kimmel and J...
