Re: Pre-Season Favorites

How is Berlin gonna be this year? Prosser is a great coach! I’m sure he will have them in contention! Hard to tell from their scrimmage against CR. Ridge won 2 quarts and Berlin won 1. They looked even with Mountain Ridge.  I am confused.  GoDragons has it a different way.  Can someone explain how ...

Re: Breakout Teams, Players, & Coaching Hot Seat

Nice Prophet.  I guess doing it by conference would have been easier.  What year is the Byer kid at CT?  Did Pyle move to North Star?

Breakout Teams, Players, & Coaching Hot Seat

Wondering your thoughts on the following: Breakout Team/Biggest Surprise Team?  I am going to go with the Bedford Bisons.  They won't win the conference, but I think they are going to win a few more games than in years past.  I am going out on a limb and saying they pull 8-10 wins out of the LHAC.  ...

Re: Recruiting - JV.

If you have major D1 talent you will get recognized no matter where you play. That's very true.  If you are a D1 prospect in basketball, coaches know you more through AAU than HS for the most part.  https://www.ncaa.org/sites/default/files/2017-18DIREC_MensBasketballRecruitingCalendar_20170619.pdf...

Re: Recruiting - JV.

Well, you're not supposed to buy new cars, or rent over buy, or eat out instead of stay in. But guess what, people do it anyways. If parents want to "blow" $300 to watch their kids play a sport they enjoy more then by all means they're entitled to do that. I'm sure you spend money on thin...

Re: Recruiting - JV.

Jeez you guys are no fun sometimes. Of course most schools have camps.  That was a shot at certain people at Juniata Valley for their hands in the loading of a team. Some AAU teams, and I mean FEW, very FEW, play for more than one month.  Hence the (not all) in my post.   But there is a LARGE group ...

Re: Recruiting - JV.

Some of the players from an AAU team conveniently "moved" to Juniata Valley at the same time. Some players were from Northern Bedford and some were from Chestnut Ridge. I assumed this was common knowledge given many of the posts on this website regarding this. I find it hard to believe tha...

Re: Recruiting - JV.

Nope - We are Ms. Julie Public.  Just witnessed a lot of it go down.  Salty, yes definitely.  When people use their elitist beliefs, after [s]paying[/s] joining an AAU team, finding success, then deciding to stack the deck to beat on publics in the area.  Yeah, salty could be one word to describe it...

Re: Pennsylvania All-State Basketball Teams

Looking at the bracket again, had Richland won the district they would have had to play Lancaster Mennonite in the first round.  LV fell to them.  Then the road would have included Westinghouse and James Ellis, who just signed with Duquesne the other day, D1.  Arguably beating Alliquippa was big, bu...
