Central30 maybe you can help me out with this one. I also read that young Runk had over 1000 yards. I think i read it was somewhere closer to 1200 yards. i by no means want to taint or belittle his accomplishment and have nothing but positive things able him would like to congratulate him on a tremendous season, but after further review, I am a little skeptical of those number.

My reasoning for skepticism. On an 8 game schedule that means he averaged 150 per game. Breaking it down even further (mainly for comparison purposes) based on a 32 minute JH game that is 4.68 yards per minute. Now, let's convert that to a varsity level game. 4.68 yards per minute x 48 (minutes in a varsity games) = 224.64 yards per game. Take that times a 10 game schedule and he would have run for the equavilent of 2,246 yards at the varsity level. wow!!!

again, don't take my comments as a criticism. just food for thought.

I think its great for the kid but what was the team's record? There is only one stat that counts and that's the RECORD!!!

Maybe you Central people have to have something to feel good about because all I hear is Frederick passsing this and that and this Runk kid this and that in JH.

What are your footbal records varsity and JH? Tout them first then the player stats. Sucess is only measured in wins and losses.

Mr. Southpaw, that is a nice statement but again the Gator poses the question, who cares about Jr. High stats. That is what is wrong with many schools.

All this emphasis on Jr. High and then nothing happens in Varsity. Jr. High is to be a preparation for varsity. Winning games at that level is preparation but keeping a player's stats is ludicrous. Gator is a little fired up this fine day.

Houston Klotz had over 1100 yards this year.......Recieving that is......and his yards after the catch was amazing.....an eight yard pass can easily turn into a 45-50 yrd pass when you throw to that kid........

Congrats to Runk, and Central...........

Hey South Paw......you guys brought it at us last night....with 3 incredible backs.....do you have the stats on Tomovich, hess or Harbs......
and again great game last night......

Southpaw's right.

We live in a world that celebrates too much "I" and not enough "We." Any kid that makes that much yardage must have a dang fine line and some good blocking backs and a quarterback that can get him the ball as well as a lot of substitutes who give good effort in practice not to mention some coaches who do it for the love of the sport not the money.

stats are pretty even for all 3 backs, carries, yards all about equal. The numbers aren't important its the balance that is.
I haven't even given out awards the las 4 years at the end of the season, what the purpose to single out one or two players for gaudy stats, when 9 or 10 other guys had to block for them to get those stats. Football is such a team oriented game its hard to single out one player that deserves all the credit.

My teams the last 4 years have had one goal to shoot for. WINS....
No trophies or plaques to win individually just wins!

From what I heard....you did just that....won!...2 undefeated seasons? one with a lost and now this one with only 2 losses? Very Impressive....if that is true....
