I like it... I think there are a few coaches at ridge who have been there for too long and not really interested in putting in the time needed to successfully coach anymore, and I'm not talking about football...

Ridge opened ALL Head coaching positions not just Fall & Winter. All Coaches need to be evaluated including FOOTBALL!

New blockbuster sequel: "The Return of the Magnificent Max Shoemaker". Sounds like a great title. Can it happen?

Just because they open all of the coaches positions does not mean they will change any coaches. I would think if the board wanted to replace a coach they would have just fired him? I have to think that most if not all of the coaches will return next year.

I agree, but at least the board is doing something that they have not done in the last 5 years.
Coaches & coaching should be looked at and evaluated every couple of years to make sure it is progressing
not regressing.

FYI, Ridge not only opened all Head Coaches, they opened all coaching positions for the entire 2008-2009 school year - not just fall and winter, but the entire year plus all coaching positions. This is a great philosphy and method to challenge exisiting coaches and allow the district to evaluate from top / down. The downside is the position the Association took by stating they would take all legal steps necessary to block this decision - this is selfish and the Association is not looking out for the best interest of the kids and the tax payers of the district. I am glad the Board moved forward - the public should pressure the Association on thier statements.
