sure he is a great player but how come Steve Ling from CV didn't get any credit at all last year when he ran for 401 yards.

Hey, it's not his fault, unless he begged the coach to keep him in. I blame the coaching staff. And then when the smoke cleared, let's not kick an extra point but kneel down instead. Good coaching.

AJ Nastasi was in the Faces in the Crowd section back in 1998, so a local from a public school has been in there before.

"CONFUSED", Why don't you and the rest of you ney sayers that are wondering why this player or that player didn't get recognised ............contact SI and ask them.

All this negativity is detracting from a national recognition that the whole area should take pride in. "Maybe" SI considered Josh because of all he went through with losing his dad, coach, and best friend. Give it a rest and be happy for his accomplishment.

Congratulations Josh!

Didn't some kid from Laurel Valley or somewhere have a good game the same day his dad died this season?

This thread is a great example of the "Johnstown Mentality" at its finest. A mentality that looks to hand out condolences rather than congratulations. A mentality where jealous morons from little piss ant schools talk down, trivialise, demean and try to ignore the accomplishments of others. This embarrassing phenomenon started in our area the 70's when the area started losing population and the little schools, that should have been done away with then, started "protecting their turf". Provincialism got out of control as the schools got smaller and smaller. As a result, anytime anyone does or achieves something out of the ordinary -- beats a top rated opponent, receives a national recognition, etc -- there are certain factions that crawl out from undr their rocks to engage in a pitiful attempt to downplay the accomplishment. Often the accomplishment is never even recognized by the Johnstown media, latest example being a couple days ago when the Township girls soccer team beating class AAAA Altoona at Altoona on Altoona's senior night. This is a huge accomplishment Tribune. Why no recognition for these kids?

At least the Tribune recognized this accomplishment. Kudos to Mastiovich for the excellent, well written story.

But is it a huge accomplishment if it happened against a "little piss ant school"?

Congratulations Josh

Speaking for a couple players on Johnstown's team, were proud of you, and hope you keep up the good work. Too everyone else, he didn't ask for all this, it happened on its own, and he deserves it.
