As hoganddog pointed out, if District 6 wants to reduce its number of AA schools by one, the easy answer is to let Somerset go back to District 5, which is it's "Home District" based on geography. Somerset has been in District 6 for many years because it was always AAA. Now that it is AA, allowing Somerset to return to District 5 would increase the AA population to 4 (the same as the current AAA in District 6) and reduce the number of AA teams in District 6 which is apparently some sort of problem for those folks.

However, it is highly unlikely that District 6 will allow them go, as Head Roadie has explained numerous times before. So before you criticize District 5 too heavily, talk to the people who run District 6 about how to "balance" things.
If you don't know where you're going, you'll probably end up somewhere else.

the problem is d6 single A not double AA

If you were to draw a line in the middle of what is a combination of d5 and d6, what teams would be in each half.

Sorry youngbuck. Excuse me for responding to the topic (District 5 AA Champs= Losing Record) with a comment about how to increase AA representation in District 5. I should have known that when you started this thread, you wanted everyone to talk about District 6 Single A.

Bedford forced a pile of turnovers tonight. I'd say they had nearly 6 between INT's and fumble recoveries.

Shippey had a huge run on the first play on offense for Bedford. Detwiler answered a Westinghouse TD with a 60+ yard kickoff return. This is a team that's won 6 out of their last 7, and are really building up some confidence to have a good year next season.

And this is why people get annonyed with a District 5 Championship "tournamnet"

You get to omitt and change critical facts when you say Bedford has won 6 of 7.

They have actually won 5 of 6 (Westy, CH, CR, CR and Whouse) a combined record of 10-31 and all of them with LOSING records. Great playoff run.

Again, not ripping on the players at Bedford--you are playing a game--you should try to win.

Just pointing out to HAM and others why the folks at Richland (who mercy ruled the bisons) and other places might be a little annoyed that your still playing and talking it up like you deserve to be.

And these kids did it without a tackle program at the elementary level. And to think Bedford football would never do well again without youth tackle. :P

The reason I am mentioning this is that earlier in the year, people were saying the reason Bedford football has been down is because they do not have a tackle league. It was suggested that the next good Bedford team will be the group of kids who completed tackle football this year. I do not agree. It looks like there will be some good Bedford teams in the future who never did participate in a tackle league at age 9.

It just goes to show that a little teamwork and ability can take you places. Not nessesarily what they did as 8 and 9 year olds. Yes the tackle league is great, but not the 'cure all' like a 'few' think.

Congratulations to the Bisons and their fantastic run.
