Re: BG
Having family in the BG system they are not like a Bishop McCort who thrives off transfers and recruiting. They just act like every other singe A school. Which is why they aren't usually at the top.

Actually McCort's "in the family" crowd is just flat out better than Guilfoyle's. Thats why McCort is usually at the top and they aren't.
Believe or not, the Parochial schools actually have good athletes. Our Mother of Sorrows has produced more All State Football players than just about every school district in District Six over the past 10 years.

The kids from the parochial schools usually break off at 9th grade and go to Hollidaysburg or Altoona. The rest move on to BG. The parents believe their kids get a better shot at getting recruited playing for a Triple A or Quad A school. I dont believe in that philosophy at all!

Re: BG
There is no denying that he competition is light years better in AAAA. In A, each team has a good player or two, but 90% of the kids on a class A team wouldn't even smell the 3 deep at even a weaker AAAA team like Altoona.
In terms of recruiting, it makes no real difference where you play. If you're 6'3" 225 and throw 95mph, college coaches and MLB scouts will find you. The real difference is that stats are relative. If your pitching record looks like Sandy Koufax's at a class A school, that is relative because of the weaker competition. For example, there's no way that the gaudy stats like the Nastasi brothers racked up at Northern Bedford in hoops would've happened if they had payed at Altoona. However, they still would've been D1 football recruits.
